Introduction to Rhinoceros


Vinyl Tattoo Project
Hey there! I'm Hannah and welcome to my blog. I was first introduced to Rhinoceros in my Intro to Studio Art and Design class. Before this class, I had only been into painting and drawing. I had never previously worked with a software before, so it was really challenging for me at first. But nevertheless, I pulled through and really made a significant difference within the last couple projects. I struggled with the homework, due to the fact that I was just getting to know all of the different commands, and how to do certain techniques. I feel that I really could show off my unique style through the different projects we were assigned, such as the Vinyl Tattoo Project, as well as the Chess Set Project.

Designing the Chess Set Designing the Chess Set: I came up with a really unique idea for my chess set. The previous night I had watched the film, "Coraline." This 3D animation film is a Tim Burton movie, and I love 3D animation. I wanted to create little animated monsters for the pieces of my chess set. The monsters would look really cute and playful, while also being monsters. My idea towards this game was to be more kid-friendly. My best friend in this project would have to be the rebuild command. This made it to where I could move around the control points to mold my little creatures into six unique creatures. The knight was a rabbit looking creature, the pawn looked like a cute robot, the rook looked like a little mushroom guy, the queen was a crocodile dinosaur looking creature, the king resembled a larger monster with a circular head and body, and lastly, the bishop resembled an alien type creature, with only one eye. 3D Head Scan

3D Head Scan How I Did The Head Scan This was one of the first projects we did, along with the homework. Frankie took each student out in the hallway and scanned their heads and upper bodies. This process took a while, because the scans had to be pretty much perfect. I remember I had to redo mine because I thought Frankie was done with the scan, but he wasn't. I had to redo my scan a couple times. I didn't want to have my scan done with my glasses on also.  What Could I Have Done Better? I could have remembered to dress up the day we took the scans instead of forgetting and having to wait to retake it. I also could have sat more still during the scanning process so my instructor didn't have to restart it.  Aspects of the Project I Am Happy With? The project is definitely a unique one and I am happy that I got to even have a scan done of me.
